The Olmatello

The Olmatello is a badland formation that overlooks the San Cristoforo valley. This natural balcony is characterized by a pine forest with pines classified as monumental. The Badlands are geoformological phenomena that are formed when a clayey soil undergoes the erosive action of atmospheric agents.

The Quercione

The Olmatello oak tree is a centuries-old specimen of downy oak (Quercus Pubescens) that with its bulk dominates the landscape. With its incredible height of 25 meters and a crown diameter of 20 meters, it is one of the most majestic trees in the area. This plant monument has been bound by the regional law for the protection of monumental trees since 1988.
